Youth Strings Workshop

Join the Torrey Chamber Music Festival artists for this exciting workshop, where students (ages 4 - 18) will receive coaching and perform in a Side-by-side concert with professional musicians! Repertoire for this year will include Fiddles on Fire, Ode to Joy, William Tell Overture, and How Far I’ll Go for String Orchestra with percussion accompaniment from the Salt Lake Symphony. Students will be sent the music upon registration and will be expected to prepare their individual parts in advance, with the help of online videos to assist in preparation.

9:00 - 10:15 Sectionals
10:15 - 11:15 Rehearsal
11:15 - 11:30 Break/snack
11:30 - 12:30 Rehearsal
1pm - Lunch (will be provided)
2pm - Family Concert featuring Workshop Student Performance at the Wayne County Community Center
Video Requirements
Demonstrate current technical and musical ability, approximately oneminute. A cell phone is perfectly fine for the video. Please film in horizontal mode and make sure that the image shows the student’s full torso, instrument, and bow so that the teachers can evaluate position and technique.
Travel and Accommodation
Torrey Chamber Music Festival Strings Camp is a day camp and does not provide any overnight accommodations or meals for students or their families. Non-local participants are welcome, with the understanding that they are responsible for travel to Torrey and accommodation in or near Torrey, and students must be with a parent or guardian at all times outside of Strings Camp.
